The initial focus of the Centre will be on commercializing new technology discoveries related to the environment, natural resources and energy; health and related life sciences; and digital media.
Mind to Market Award 2007
The Mind to Market Award honours the best OCE-supported, commercially successful, collaboration between Ontario’s most innovative research and industry partners. The award, presented at the Discovery 2007 conference, celebrated the success of two collaborations: BTI Photonic Systems Inc. and Queen's University and SRI Petro Chemical Inc. and University of Guelph. BTI Photonic Systems Inc. developed The Netstender platform which enables carriers to profitably increase bandwidth and transmit content at a far faster rate. This solution allows BTI Photonic Systems Inc. to dominate an ultra-specific and vital link in the broadband connectivity chain. SRI Inc. developed the Enviro-Grow System (EGS): a hydroponic growth medium with the potential to revolutionize Ontario’s $3 billion greenhouse industry and beyond.
