The need behind Benbria’s intelligent next-generation notification technology is straightforward to describe but complex to achieve: reliably notify large, dispersed groups in multiple locations with targeted messages, across a variety of communications channels. A typical requirement: delivering audio and visual security notifications to students, staff, faculty and administrators at multiple locations on a college or university campus.
Benbria’s BlazeCast technology interoperates with telephony systems network infrastructure and open protocols to deliver information to phones, overhead paging systems, SMS devices, PCs, and digital displays. The company’s IP speaker system (powered over Ethernet) enables two-way information flow.
OCE’s Centre for Commercialization of Research (CCR) has been instrumental in the development of Benbria’s business, through the provision of $100,000 in capital investments. Their Blazecast system has already been acquired by dozens of educational institutions in North America.
Benbria’s accomplishments have been recognised by a number of awards in recent years, including the 2010 PROFIT HOT 50 Canada’s Emerging Growth Companies list where they ranked 11th.
