Ontario Centres of Excellence has a vast network of SMEs and start-ups.  A not-for-profit organization, we work with industry to facilitate collaborations with Canada’s largest concentration of world-class researchers at universities, colleges and research institutes. OCE’s commercialization and start-up activities provide access to new innovative technologies and help companies benefit from Canada’s R&D.

OCE’s role in Canada’s Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) is to partner with prime contractors to help offset their obligations under the policy.  With our direct access to the R&D marketplace, we can match academic research with your needs, identify and support industry-academic collaborations, and help build public-private partnerships.

Our feet-on-the-ground business model deploys a 40-member team of highly qualified, experienced Business Development Managers who build relationships with academic researchers, entrepreneurs and start-up companies to create collaborations and projects that drive Canada’s innovation and productivity.  

Focusing our team on Canada’s Key Industrial Capabilities (KICs) and leveraging our strong relationships with industry, OCE can help your company gain maximum direct and indirect credits under the Investment Framework.
