TargetGHG Industrial Demonstration Program

Through the TargetGHG Industrial Demonstration Program, Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) will support projects with industrial emitters that demonstrate greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions in collaboration with innovative companies providing solutions. The projects will help Ontario meet its year 2020 targets for GHG emission reduction and provide significant economic benefits to Ontario. Ontario’s year 2020 GHG emission target is 15% below the 1990 level.

Supported by the Ontario Ministry of Research, Innovation and Science and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the $80 million* program aims to reduce GHG emissions while strengthening Ontario’s economy.  Providing access to leading-edge technologies helps to keep our industries globally competitive and building better, stronger cleantech companies serves to increase market share in a rapidly expanding sector.

Ontario’s industrial emitters are invited to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs), in partnership with solutions providers.OCE will support approximately eight projects that demonstrate (GHG) emission reductions. Eligible demonstration projects may fall into the following categories:

  • Industrial Point Source: Technologies that reduce GHG emissions through more sustainable approaches at industrial production sites.
  • Value Chain: Technologies that reduce GHG emissions through more sustainable approaches through the industrial value chain.
  • CO2 Innovations: Technologies that involve new and innovative uses of CO2.

Partnering Forum

To facilitate collaborations, OCE and its program partners will host a partnering forum on October 5, 2016. To participate, please apply. There is no cost to attend the partnering forum, however, advance registration is required.
